15: Practicing Self-Care

You matter. Because you are created in God’s image, nothing in this world or the next can change your inherent worth. In fact, Jesus’ command to love others the way you love yourself presumes that you are worthy of loving care. Imitating God’s own acceptance of you, you are choosing to embrace what is most true about you and about God. Caring for your heart, mind, body, and spirit, by treating yourself with loving-kindness, honors the one who made you and who loves you. Your posture of self-acceptance blesses you and blesses those around you; caring for yourself gives others permission to do the same. As you choose to live from the solid place, your daily choices confirm that you are worthy and precious to God. You are worthy of loving care.
